Veneers are thin, custom-made tooth-colored pieces of ceramic, similair to a corwn, only they are bonded front and top surface of the tooth only. They are considered a cosmetic treatment and imitate the appearance of natural teeth while improving their color, shape, size, or length. In some cases, Dental veneers can be used instead of braces, teeth whitening, or other treatments based on your existing teeth condition.
Who Can Benefit From Dental Veneers?
We offer dental veneers to correct various issues with teeth and help patients achieve beautiful natural smiles. This can include:
- Covering up teeth stains or discoloration
- Straightening a crowed smile
- Closing minor spaces between teeth
- Resizing or reshaping teeth
Porcelain veneers are almost indistinguishable in your mouth, imitating your natural teeth.
Porcelain veneers cannot be repaired if they chip or break, they must be replaced.
During your consultation, Dr. Jacob Robichaux will assess if your teeth are a suitable size to support veneers and are free from chronic problems such as tooth decay or gum disease that can affect the success of the treatment.
To place the veneers, we will remove a small layer of enamel from the front surface of the teeth to make room for your new restoration. The surface will be etched to help the veneers bond more easily and uniformly. We will then capture an impression of your smile to fabricate your customized restoration.
Once your veneers are ready, we will check that they are the right size and make the necessary adjustments before bonding with dental adhesive.
